Skin Care Treatment From 30 to 60 and Beyond

10/18/2007

As we get older, our bodies tend to break down. It may be a little, it may be a lot, and some of us may break down a little faster than others. Some of that deterioration depends on our diet and lifestyle, and some is due to the simple accumulation of years of exposure to the sun, environmental and household chemicals, and skin treatment products that do more harm than good. Skin care treatment that locks in natural moisture and keeps out chemicals will slow the aging process and may even help you look younger, but here are a few tips that will give a little extra boost.

Starting in your 30’s and right through to however old you’re going to get, wash your face with a natural product that contains a little alpha-hydroxy acids. They deep clean the pores, increase the production of new, healthy skin cells, soften the lines in the skin and make it smoother.

Use skin care products with Vitamin C. Vitamin C helps the body produce collagen – the infrastructure that gives our skin body and shape. A good natural skin care treatment with Vitamin C will help the skin stay firm, may reverse sagging that has already occurred, and keeps the skin supple.

As you get into your ‘50s, or if your skin tends to be aging a little faster than you’d like, use skin care products with peptides. Peptides trigger production of elastin, which, along with collagen, increases resilience.

For the eye area, try a skin care product with hyaluronic acid and retinol. The crowsfeet in the delicate skin around the eyes will plump up and be less visible.

No matter what your age, the skin needs moisture. Harsh weather, household and environmental chemicals, air conditioning in the summer, heating in the winter, and skin care treatment high in chemical ingredients combine to leach the natural moisture from the skin. Once your skin gets dry, the door is open to just about every other skin problem you can imagine, including aging.

A good shielding lotion is the skin care treatment many doctors recommend to help the skin retain its natural moisture, protect it from the elements and from our harsh, chemical environment. You may not be able to stop time, but with a good skin care treatment routine, you sure can slow it down.
